Please join us in congratulating Prof. George Pope on his retirement from Baldwin Wallace University at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Prof. Pope has served on the faculty of the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music since August of 2002. George is a consummate professional and an artist of the highest caliber. He is a joyful collaborator who is meticulous about details. He is warm, curious, and passionate about his students and their future careers. He is active in the National Flute Association, having served as president, program chair and as a member of the Board of Directors. Pope is currently President of the Board of the Tuesday Musical Association in Akron and served as Chair of the Scholarship Committee. He is a founding member and Board President of the Chamber Music Society of Ohio. Pope was named “Arts Educator of 2009” by the Akron Area Arts Alliance. In 2018, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Flute Association.
