The Lafayette String Quartet (LSQ) is one of Canada’s premier chamber ensembles. It is the only all-female quartet in the world to comprise the original four members, which is a distinct rarity.
The quartet will perform works by W.A. Mozart, Abigail Richardson-Schulte and Alexander Borodin.LSQ formed in 1986 in Detroit, Michigan, and has performed widely throughout North America and Europe, with its concerts being hailed as “passionate, riveting, and with flawless ensemble.”
Since 1991, all four members of LSQ have been artists-in-residence at the University of Victoria School of Music in Victoria, British Columbia. They are celebrating their final season of performances together — with numerous concerts planned in many of their favorite cities.
