Thrilled to welcome Richard Baskin Jr. this March for a residency at Baldwin Wallace. Currently on national tour with Freestyle Love Supreme there’s a heck of a lot of collaborative energy and multi-hyphenate talent coming from this human! In the last year alone he had an arranging debut for the New World Symphony, was a guest singer-songwriter on Drew Gasparini’s “New Voices”, and was pianist/music director/arranger for Broadway for Racial Justice’s Revival series. He has worked as a bandleader, jazz vocalist (West End Lounge, 54 Below), musical director, and adjunct faculty (Manhattan School, Pace) in New York City. An alum of Western Michigan University and Indiana’s Jacobs School of Music, he won the top prize at the Amateur Night Competition in Harlem, New York’s Apollo Theatre in 2007.
This exciting opportunity is supported by the Hassan Equity Fund.
